Affiliate Disclosure

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a link with a tracking code in it. If you book or buy through it, the company may pay me a small commission. Some links on this site are also turned into affiliate links automatically when the page loads.

Do prices change?

Prices do not go up. You pay the same price whether you use my link or not. With a few partners, such as Heymondo and Holafly, my link or code even gives you a discount.

Where do I use affiliate links?

I use them for hotels and hostels, tours and activities, travel insurance, eSIMs and SIM cards, car rental, flights, trains and buses, gear and website tools. The list can change as I work with new partners. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Do I use the products I link to?

Where I have used a product, the box says so. Where I have not, it only describes what the service does. Gear lists are suggestions, not a review of every item.

What else earns me money?

The articles on this site show ads, which earn me income. I also sell my own digital travel guides on Rexby, and links to Rexby are marked as sponsored. Some booking links created on that platform can earn me a commission too. The free quote form on the Get a Free Quote page sends your request to Happy Gringo, a travel agency in Ecuador, and I may receive support through a partnership arrangement, which does not change the price you pay. Some trips have been hosted by tourism boards or tour companies, and when an article comes from one, it says so.

Whose content is it?

The articles and opinions on this site are my own. Commissions and ads do not decide which hotels, products or places I recommend, or how I rank them. On hosted trips the host sets much of the itinerary, so I write about the places I was taken to, and I say when a trip was hosted.
